SketchBook Sunday: On Figures, Automatism, Letting Go

Last week was about colors, this week is about figures. By the dozen.

Inspired by some readings I am gathering for my thesis (on transcendence from the perspective of art), I was also tempted to try some basic methods for automatic drawing. Giving control over to “something else” turns out to be quite fruitful, especially when one usually keeps one’s nose to the grindstone a bit too long.

From here on, it’s only automatic drawings.

I hope you enjoyed it as much as  I enjoyed letting it happen!

I can’t promise anything for the next few weeks as I am part of a school-related workshop in a very exciting country, leaving next Friday. What I can promise, though, is a blog post recalling the adventures upon my return.

Draw on,

PT.
